Fuzz FM - Stoner Rock Radio A very cool find to say the least. I was hesitant to hit play for some reason. I’m not usually big on solo artists, mostly because it feels so artificial...but I was very pleased to find out that Pat Ryan Key is as genuine as they come.

His vocals sit in the mix like a big comfy chair, and the accompanying layers of bluesy guitar and organ are masterfully played and arranged. Favorite track: Bodhi.

Eyes Closed 03:57
Verse 1: With my eyes closed, Before the storm. Fleeting feelings for more. This door is closed. Chorus: Now Verse 2: Mending gaps closed, We are exposed. Touch my soul, We will know who is most gone. Chorus: Now Bridge: Listen please I am on my knees Don’t make me plead Verse 3 Chorus: You let a lover mess with your mind. Do not let another take away your time. So call your brother to shake you off this time. And let your mother save you from dying.
2.
Boy Toy 02:49
Verse 1: She is coy with her tricks. And her questions, they get her fix. And I realize I am a boy, A damn good toy. Verse 2: Well I am known for trying my best. But my thoughts, y’all, they give me no rest. ‘Cause I am lost with her and her might. I ought to call it a night. Verse 3: There she sits to my left. But I fight her with my right. ‘Cause I am so much in love, I ought to wash my hands clean. Chorus: ‘Cause I am so much in love, I ought to call it a night.
3.
Bodhi 03:31
Verse 1: Oh, won’t you come to me? Take a little piece of you, And plant it like a tree. Inspire those who need to see the light. You know it feels right so help others, Break away the night. Chorus: Gold and silver paints the clown. Yeah, they all own the town. Verse 2: Round and round, bound and down. I am following the road, I am heading out of town. Looking for the preacher, So I don’t get lost. Wait a second. Hell, I lost my thought. Chorus: It will come around. Sooner or later I will come back down. Bridge: You say it is too late, Your mind is made up. I lied. I made up my mind too. Yeah, I made up our minds. Verse 3: Come into my soul, God, And cleanse my heart. A double-edged sword, And the spread is wide. I am going through the crowd, Take my hand. Be my friend, And I will never see you again. Chorus: Sow your heart around. Don’t get swallowed down.
4.
An Awakening 03:55
Verse 1: Hang my head up high for you. My faith still resides too. It is true. Chorus: All my life I have bled, With endless tears I have shed. But you I consider a friend. A love I wish to see ‘til the end. Verse 2: It is not always easy to prove my pain. As time passes, it shows me truth and patience. But how can I get to you? Chorus: Now my life can move. I promise to always be true. Do you feel the same too? I need to know you do. Bridge: You are my pain. Break Outro / Coda: You will see, Yes I am strong enough.
5.
Them Bees 04:32
Verse 1: Let’s start over as one. Life then was not that much fun. Lend your ears and take my hand. I will do all that I can. Chorus: Well you are all by, And you are all by your side. Need a friend? Verse 2: Don’t stay close, We will meet again. Like fire and water against the sand. Spread like a wound that has opened up. Toxic blood is done. It will not stop. Chorus: Well you are all by, And you are all by your side. Need a friend? Verse 3: Several years now down the line. It does not feel like that much time. I see you have met another man. Told me your life is a garbage can. Chorus/Outro: Well you are all by, And you are all by your side. And you need a friend.

about

Guncle is a tribute to my nephew, Hezekiah Reign. At the time this album was made, "Hezzie" could not pronounce uncle and instead called me guncle.

Although the songs themselves discuss relationships and the struggles known within, the overall message values the importance of positivity as well as being able to trust the timing of your life. My nephew helped me realize the power in enjoying the simple things.
